A long way back in February, during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, LG wrapped off the covers from its 2016’s premium smartphone, LG G5. The main attraction of the G5 was its modular design. After launching in other countries, LG finally launched the G5 in India. Phew! Why so fast LG? Well, the device is priced at Rs. 52,990 which is a little overpriced compared to its competitor Samsung Galaxy S7 that was priced at 48,900 when it launched in India. So, will LG G5 be able to become a big hit like its predecessor G4?

LG G5 : DESIGN & BUILT
Starting off with the design first, you will miss the traditional LG ‘G’ series design as it is fully changed now. There are now no hardware buttons on the back and they are now replaced by the fingerprint scanner. Also, you will miss that trademark curvy design that LG introduced in its previous devices. But besides all these, LG G5 looks and feels like a flagship. The body is now made up of metal, replacing the leather type back seen on previous devices. As discussed in the beginning, the LG G5’s main attraction is its unique modular design, using which user can add different modules to it according to needs. There is a small button on the bottom of this device, pressing which you can swap off the lower panel which includes the battery. Now, you will be probably thinking how the device will work without a battery! Well, there is an extra battery in the camera module so you can put that into the device and can have some hours of juice to power your LG G5. On the front, you’ll find a 5.3-inch display, this time, Quad HD. It is an Always ON display with Gorilla Glass 4. There are no hardware buttons as you will find on-screen buttons on this device. The device weighs just 149.4 grams and is 7.7mm thin too!
LG G5: PERFORMANCE & SOFTWARE
Now coming to the internals, the device is powered by a Snapdragon 820 chipset along with the Adreno 530GPU. There is 4GB RAM and 32GB ROM which can be further expanded up to 200GB and there is a dedicated slot for it! ( Sweet?) The camera of LG G5 is really amazing both in outdoor conditions as well as in the low light conditions, thanks to the 16MP +8MP dual rear cameras with f/1.8 and f/2.4 aperture respectively. The camera features include Optical Image Stabilization, Laser Autofocus, LED Flash, Geo-Tagging, Touch Focus and much more. There is also an 8MP front facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. The LG G5 comes with a 2,800 mAh battery with Fast Charging ( Quick Charge 3.0) which charges the device up to 83% in just 30 minutes. As per the OS, Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 runs out of the box.
Finally coming to the pricing, LG launched G5 at Rs.52,990 in India. The device will be available from Flipkart and also from the retail stores. The phone is undoubtedly a very great choice to buy.
