Is Xiaomi Really Trustworthy with its Devices?

We all have been very familiar with one company’s name from the past two years because of its electronic products such as phones, earphones. Yes, you guessed it right its Xiaomi – The Chinese Giant, which is laying their hands on India too.

But are Xiaomi’s devices really good to be bought without any second thoughts?
The Answer is No!

Now Before I start with my point, I want to make it very clear that I am not saying all these points in the air everything that I say today is my experience with Xiaomi and some news which isn’t telecasted here.

Xiaomi seems very promising to us, and we also believe in it, and If I  am not wrong, it is the only Chinese company which we don’t consider twice before buying any of its devices. They have great products and at very low costs but what If I told you that their After Purchase Service is just a mask on their faces before we buy the item. For instance: I once visited the service center for some issue, but when I went there, I couldn’t imagine the period they asked us(users) to wait, for small issues. A Guy had a problem with his display, and they asked him to wait for a month just to replace the display.
Now you might think that it’s just normal to expect for a month to just change the display, but my Asus Zenfone’s Motherboard was replaced in a day, and they handed over to me on the next day! Also, the max duration which they mentioned to wait was a week.

On February 2016 I planned to get an Earphone for myself and just as a regular guy I bought the Mi in-ear headphones for a thousand bucks.
And they were great and worth to buy until one day, one side of the earphones stopped working, I contacted the customer care and I was very pleased to hear that they will just replace the headset and give me a new one or a refurbished one. So, I handed over the earphone to the service center, and they gave me a date to pick those up after 45 freaking days that’s one and a half month. So I asked that can’t I get it before, and they said that No its hardly possible, and as a reminder, I like to mention that it was a replacement! After 45 days I visited them for five times and yet there was no sign of it being done. Then they asked me not to visit the service center cause now they will deliver it to me at my doorstep ( which didn’t happen)

So I asked that can’t I get it before and they said that No its hardly possible, and as a reminder I like to mention that it was a replacement! After 45 days I visited them for 5 times and yet there was no sign of it being done. Then they asked me not to visit the service center cause now they will deliver it to me at my doorstep ( which didn’t happen) So after 3 months I had to send a legal notice to them with all details so that I can file a case in the consumer court. Now you see that the level of service went so down. That they didn’t agree to give my earphones or a refund even after 3 months! Only after that legal notice, I got them back after 10 days.
This is not just in my case, I checked the internet and there were many such reports asking for help. In the consumer forum.

Also I would like to mention that recently one Mi5 and a Mi4i exploded in China out of which the Mi5 is a flagship from the Xiaomi.

Now only one thing that I would like to mention is, do consider the services and sales and the quality of the product the company is giving you and not the features it has. That can happen with you also just make sure about everything and then only proceed. And I am not saying other companies don’t have these issues. They also might have, but I haven’t encountered them yet.
