Samsung is done with its 2016 launches as the Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge and the Note 7 have been launched. Now, no more high-end devices will be seen until the end of 2016 ( Hopefully!). Well, with the Note 7, we saw something that was never seen in any Galaxy ‘Note’ before. The dual curved screen instead of that Flat-Screen on previous Notes! Well, some users welcomed this approach of the company while others were disappointed. The Note series was supposed to be pretty different from the Galaxy S lineup but this year, the company did something that was not expected! The curved screen made the Note 7 just an update to the S7 Edge.

SAMSUNG ELIMINATING FLAT-SCREEN GALAXY S?

Flat-Screen

Today we have got something weird. Something that will make any Samsung user sad if he/she loves the flat-screen in Samsung devices. The new hint from company’s mobile chief Dong-jin Koh has suggested that the company is looking ahead for no flat-screen devices in the Galaxy S series. And most probably not in the ‘Note’ series also! Here is what Koh said in an interview –

Samsung has considered that it would make the edge display as the identity of the Galaxy S smartphone lineup if the company can provide consumers differentiated user experience through software and user-friendly functions (for the curved screen)

Surely this statement gives a hint about the future plans of Samsung. Last year, the new Edge screen concept came into full force through the S6/S6 Edge. This new idea caught the eyes of many, thanks to its stunning, unprecedented design. But, there was also a group of Samsung lovers that actually criticized this approach by Samsung. Well, the Note 7 has been launched and the design of the phone has made everyone think what we’re going to see in the S8 next year.  One thing is true for sure –

Samsung will not likely get rid of the flat-screen Galaxy S smartphone model right away, but if the market response is positive with the Note 7, it would surely serve as a cue for Samsung to focus only on the Edge model

So, what are your thoughts on it? Do let us know via comments 😀
