Android is the biggest and the most widely used operating system in the world. If you’re an Android user then you probably must have heard about the QuadRooter security flaw.
It’s a security loophole present in those devices which run only on Qualcomm hardware.Other Smartphone users whose devices run on MediaTek or Exynos chipset need not worry as this bug won’t affect them at all. :D
QUADROOTER FLAWS : BLACKBERRY DID IT!
BlackBerry has once again proved itself in the market.By standing out from the crowd, the company proudly claims to be the first handset maker to successfully patch all of the QuadRooter vulnerabilities. The company is already rolling out a patch against the QuadRooter exploit to the Priv and DTEK50 starting today.
It’s good to see how the Canadian handset maker is more focused and has kept its main priorities on the security aspect of the device. This completely makes sense as the company likes to call the DTEK50 as “the world’s most secure Android phone”.
BlackBerry Chief Security Officer, David Kleidermacher says that –
“Some critical Android vulnerabilities – for example, one that can be easily and remotely exploited with a publicly disclosed method to execute ‘root’ privileged malware – simply can’t wait for a monthly update cycle.”
However, in all Nexus devices, this bug should be fixed by the end of this month as Google shall roll-out it’s September security patch.
