New One Plus 3 Update Brings sRGB Mode & Better RAM Management!

One Plus 3 is the latest flagship device from OnePlus. It was launched almost a week before and it was able to impress a lot of users. But, it was criticised too, for its poor RAM management . A couple of days after the launch of the One Plus 2, a new post on XDA-Developers confirmed that there is a fix for this problem. But, for that, your One Plus 3 needs to be rooted. So, in case you don’t want to root, no problem! Because a new OTA update has been released that will fix this RAM management issue. Also, a new sRGB feature will be added to the device. But, unfortunately, only review units will get the latest One Plus 3 Update 😐

NEW ONE PLUS 3 UPDATE!

Don’t worry as the company has decided to make this new update available for all One plus 3 users. But only if the new update gets a good response from the users having review units. As the Android Authority mentions – ‘ the new Oxygen OS 3.1.4 Update is only sent out to the review units’. If you remember, when the One Plus 3 was tested against Samsung Galaxy S7, it was unable to keep running the apps in the memory, despite having a mammoth 6GB of RAM. On the other hand, the 4GB RAM Samsung Galaxy S7 did it like a piece of cake. From then, it was expected that a new update will be rolled out very soon and here it is!

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THIS NEW UPDATE ?

Well, the update focuses on sRGB Mode and a much better RAM management. Coming to the sRGB mode, it will make the colors of the One Plus 3 display a bit less saturated than the present one. Adam Krisko, from the One Plus 3 community showed the difference in the colors with and without the sRGB Mode. You can see the image below, which shows the One Plus 3 with sRGB Mode on the left and the one without this feature on the right.

To enable this mode ( if you got the update!), head to the Settings > Developer Options and from there, turn ON the sRGB mode. Coming to the second feature, there will be a better RAM management now with this new One Plus 3 Update. So, wrapping up the whole thing, it seems One Plus has admitted that there is something wrong in the new flagship. So, what you think of the new update? Do let us know via comments section 😀
