You’ll have to Buy $25 Dongle to Connect iPhone 7 to MacBook Pro

First Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter & Now this…. Silent Claps!

Apple launched its MacBook Pro 2016 and it was praised for many reasons. But, Apple did something amiss with the new MacBook! The USB Port is not there. Yes, you read right. Much the same as Apple ditched the headphone jack on iPhone 7, the standard USB port is no more on the new MacBook Pro. Thus, there are currently 4 USB Type-C/Thunderbolt 3 ports. Presently, the question emerges that what if you need to hook your iPhone 7 to your glossy new MacBook Pro 2016. Apple has the answer and you’ll without a doubt need to spend some cash.

MacBook Pro

As in the iPhone 7,if you need to connect your earphones with 3.5mm jack , you won’t be able to do that unless you utilize a Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter. But hey, it doesn’t come in the box itself so you’ll need to spend some cash to purchase that! Same is the situation with the recently launched MacBook Pro. Since there is no standard USB Port, you’ll require a dongle in case you need to connect your iPhone 7. The price is $25 for the cable measuring 3.28 feet (1 meter). Also, $35 is the price for a 6.56 foot (2 meters) cable.

Isn’t this a joke? I mean just to connect your iPhone to MacBook, purchase the $25 dongle . And it isn’t delivered with the MaBook itself! Likewise, on the off chance that you have an iPhone with ThunderBolt 2 port, you have to purchase a $50 dongle! Man! You can purchase a good quality Power Bank at this cost! Finally, I am not against any Apple product. The company may have ditched the Standard USB Port on the grounds that USB Type-C is the future at this point. But, only a few phones come with a USB Type-C port and this is somewhat annoying. If you have valued the new MacBooks at 2000$, it won’t be hard to give the $20-30 adaptors within the box!
