General Mobile GM 5 is the First Nougat-powered Android One Phone

Another Android One Device, but this time it is Nougat-Powered!

What I want from all the smartphone manufacturers are regular Android updates. Most of the times , many smartphone companies overlook their previous devices and don’t even consider to roll an update for them. That’s the main reason why we still have Kitkat as the version of Android that is running the most on Android phones. Well, Android One was an initiative started by Google to create low-cost, high-quality Android devices. Also, the Android One Phones get the latest Android update without much delay because Google is in the driving seat for the software. A few Android One device have been launched so far and another device has joined the list. General Mobile, a Turkish company that has already launched an Android One device in February this year (GM 5 Plus), has launched yet another Android device named General Mobile GM 5.

General Mobile GM 5

The best thing about the General Mobile GM 5 is that this is the first Nougat-Powered Android One device in the market. Well, as the specs are considered, you cannot expect high-end features in this device as all Android One devices are made by keeping in mind the budget price segment. The GM 5 comes with a 5-inch HD screen and is powered by a Quad-Core Snapdragon chipset ( maybe 410) along with 2GB RAM & 16GB ROM. There is a 13MP rear and 5MP front-facing camera. The battery is pretty nice as the phone packs a 2,500 mAh battery under the hood. The phone is pretty thick too at 9.3mm. AS mentioned before, it runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and will hopefully receive constant Android updates for a couple of years as all Android One handsets.

In case you’re thinking to buy this phone, keep in mind that the General Mobile GM 5 will be available in the these countries : : Azerbaijan, Albania, Afghanistan, Belgium, Bosnia, Croatia, Cyprus, Georgia, Ghana, Greece, Iraq, Kenya, Luxembourg, Moldova, Netherlands, Pakistan, Serbia, Tunisia, Turkey, and Uzbekistan. The price isn’t yet known but it will surely be budget-friendly. What are your thoughts ? Do let us know via comments section. :-)
