That ‘Open Source’ thing is something due to which I love Android OS than any other Operating System. Android enables developers to customize it according to their need which makes it really flexible. We see new Android version every year and this year, the Android Nougat came. But, the major concern is that the old devices are still running older Android versions, which gives rise to software fragmentation. But, when such thing occurs, ROM makers like CyanogenMod come to rescue. You can find a suitable ROM for your device ( if available) in case there is no further Android update for it. The Nexus series ended with Nexus 6P as Google came up with Pixels. The latest Android version i.e Android Nougat is presently available for Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P & Nexus Player. But, what about older Nexuses? As always, CyanogenMod is here to rescue and so, the nightly builds for Nexus 4 are available to download and in case you own the device, you can now have the latest Android experience!
CYANOGNEMOD 14.1 FOR NEXUS 4
As the ROM is still a nightly build, it is surely not fully stable. So, before installing it up on your Nexus 4, keep in mind that there might be a few bugs. But, if you have this phone as your secondary device that you mainly use for only experimenting with new ROMs, then don’t wait! Download the CyanogenMod 14.1 nightly build now and install it up to have a taste of Nougat. The Experimental build for the phone is available to download but you can expect more bugs than nightly builds. To download the zip file of the ROM and recovery, click the links below. Do tell us your experience via comments section 🙂
